Ameris Bank is proud to celebrate its 50-year anniversary this month. What started as a single Moultrie location in 1971 with $1 million in capital has blossomed into a bank with over $21 billion in assets and 200 locations across the Southeast, including St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island and Brunswick. Ameris is proud of its Georgia roots and, a half-century later, the bank stays true to its principles of thinking boldly to help its customers see that achieving their dreams is possible, together.

“When it comes to attaining personal or commercial goals, we take a catered approach to fortify our customers’ financial peace of mind,” said Brad Danowski, Ameris Bank’s city president for the Glynn County market. “Continuity and service are paramount when selecting a banking partner. Ameris has worked for our communities for 50 years, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to do so as we move into our next 50 years.”
Ameris Bank offers a full range of financial services, including traditional banking and lending products, treasury and cash management, wealth management, insurance premium financing, and mortgage and refinancing solutions. The bank has made significant investments in its teammates, tools and technology to better serve and counsel its clients.
In addition to providing banking products to its neighbors, Ameris Bank has a commendable legacy of community service. Danowski is on the board of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of First Tee - Golden Isles, while Market President Mike Hodges serves on the boards for the Coastal Georgia Historical Society and Southeast Georgia Health System. Ameris Bank gives its time and resources to support the Georgia Alzheimer’s Foundation and St. Simons Land Trust, and has contributed funds to the county property purchase leading to the creation of the park in Glynn Haven.

“The Golden Isles are our home, and we are proud to support our community of neighbors,” said Danowski. “While I am so proud of Ameris Bank’s 50-year banking history, I am most proud of how we use our resources right here to benefit our community.”
