United Way of Coastal Georgia has appointed Virginia Brown as president and chief executive officer. She will provide leadership for the organization dedicated to improving lives in Glynn and
McIntosh Counties by promoting giving, advocating and volunteering in the areas of education, income stability and health. Brown is an award-winning executive with a master’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University, and more than 25 years experience in nonprofit management, fundraising and community development. "Virginia brings a depth of business experience that will be a perfect complement to the United Way of Coastal Georgia team," said Brenda Boone Cove, board chairperson. "The addition of her business expertise enhances our ability to improve the lives of Glynn and McIntosh County families.” Brown has held a number of senior management positions, most recently as CEO/Executive Director of Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity in Savannah. She successfully led the organization’s growth through complex resource development management and planning.
