2021 Brunswick Blessing of the Fleet

The Brunswick Blessing of the Fleet returns to Mary Ross Waterfront Park on May 8 with fun for the whole family. All-day events include arts & craft and food vendors, axe throwing, children's area, and education area (with UGA Marine Life Touch Tank). Scheduled during the day are a shrimp-eating contest, live music by multiple performers, and a Blessing of the Fleet Boat Procession.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
10am - Miss Blessing of the Fleet Pageant (stage)
11am - Official Welcome (stage)
11:15am - Brunswick City Police vs Brunswick City Firefighter Annual Tug-of-War (field)
11:30am-12:30pm - Inaugural Southeast Georgia Shrimp Standoff cooking competition (Under the Farmers Market pavilion)
Cooking competition details: $25 entry fee. Contestants will be provided an 8 x 8 space (designated by organizers prior to the event) with access to water and electricity*, 1-1/2 lbs. of shrimp, staple item, and surprise items during the competition. All other items, including supplies, tables, cooking tools & utensils and extension cord* must be supplied by contestants. Charcoal grills are not permitted. Shrimp dishes must be prepared within one hour time limit. Completed dishes will be judged by a 3-person panel. Cash prize is $200.
