2023 Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation Bridge Run
to
Sidney Lanier Bridge/Park 1 Conservation Way, Brunswick, Georgia 31520
On Saturday, February 18, runners and walkers take to the Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick for the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation Bridge Run. Unique among bridge runs, this signature event for the Health System and the Golden Isles, takes place on the tallest span in the state at 480 feet high above the Brunswick River and 5K runners cross its 7,780-foot span twice. The event is certified by the U.S. Track and Field Association as the toughest 5K in Georgia, and if that’s not enough to challenge you, there’s also a 10K Double Pump. This race is not for the timid and should only be attempted by those who have properly trained. But if you aren’t a serious runner, don’t feel left out; there’s something for everyone here! The Bridge Run includes a fun walk after the completion of the timed races, followed by a family-friendly festival featuring community vendors, food and drink, entertainment, and activities for kids. Proceeds benefit the Health System’s cancer and cardiac care programs. There is also a Pasta Party & Vendor Expo at the foot of the bridge on Friday, February 17 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. where runners can pick up their race packets and do a little carb-loading. On Saturday, registration and check-in begins at 6:00 a.m. 10K Double Pump will begin at 7:00 a.m. First Responders Challenge starts at 8:30 a.m. 5K runners start at 9:30 a.m. and walkers can proceed at 10:30 a.m. For more information, please call 1-800-537-5142, ext., 2786.
