In October, the Brunswick Actors Theatre brings to the stage the Winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Drama: “Wit,” by Margaret Edson. Vivian Bearning, PhD, a renowned professor of English who has spent years studying and teaching the brilliant and difficult metaphysical sonnets of John Donne, has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. During the course of her illness, and stint as a prize patient in an experimental chemotherapy program, Vivian comes to reassess her life and work with a profundity and humor that are transformative for both her and the audience. Performances October 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28, Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes early and ticket price includes beverages and desserts provided by Daddy Cate’s Coffees and Cupcakes by Linda.
