The event will be held Saturday June 28th at Gascoigne Bluff on Saint Simons Island Georgia. Soul Gravy, DeFunk, Ambrosius and Low Jobs will be performing starting at noon and lasting 'til sundown. In addition to a full day of music, there will be a local arts and crafts market, kids activities, and much more. This year there will also be a disc golf tournament that starts at 10 am. Be there at 9:30am to sign up - only $10. Bring chairs, blankets & coolers to enjoy the day.
A little about the history of the event:
It was five years ago, in late spring 2009, that Marshall Allen was killed. Marshall was an amazing piano player and teacher in the community for over 30 years. His death was a tragedy and shocked all who loved and respected him. This benefit was the result of wanting to carry on his memory and continuing to share his passion teaching music. The money they raise is being used to help the Music program at the local Boys and Girls club in Brunswick at the Teen Center. The Music room there is named in his honor. The Money will help bring in teachers to the center, as well as fund beginning lessons for kids.
