Coastal Stewards Shrimp Workshop

Dive into a day of hands-on learning all about shrimping and the coastal habitats that support the industry. Activities include a trawling trip aboard the R/V Georgia Bulldog, learning how to use a cast net, touring a seafood processing plant, talks by resources managers and field research activities. This workshop is part of Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant’s Coastal Stewards Program, a series of environmental education workshops targeted to adults living on or visiting the Georgia coast. The goal of the Coastal Stewards Program is to engage adults in activities designed to improve their knowledge of coastal ecosystems, enhance understanding of current issues impacting coastal communities, and inspire stewardship of coastal resources.
