Cold stunned plunge 2023

Take a ‘cold-stunned’ plunge into the chilly Atlantic in support of sea turtles on the Georgia coast in the 3rd annual fun-and-frigid fundraising event for the Jekyll Island Authority’s Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Many sea turtles get caught in hypothermic water temperatures during winter, and your support will assist with cold-stun rehabilitation and recovery. Take the plunge and raise some funds! All ages are welcome to participate, but children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult on the beach. In-person registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in Beach Village. Plungers should be on the beach and ready to plunge at 9:15 a.m. There will be on-site EMS and public safety staff. No refunds, rain or shine event. Canceled for extreme weather conditions only. This event is BYOT: bring your own towel and dry clothes.

Plungers will receive a 2023 Simply Southern™ branded t-shirt (XS – 3XL). Register by October 26 to guarantee a t-shirt. T-shirt not guaranteed after this date.

Switching to virtual must be completed by November 6, 2023. No changes will be accepted after this date. Picked the wrong size shirt? Participants are welcome to exchange their t-shirts at the end of the event at the registration table, pending what sizes remain available.

Funds raised will benefit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on behalf of the Jekyll Island Foundation.
