Virtual CoastFest 2020
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, CRD will not host an in-person CoastFest this year, but there are still exciting opportunities for you to learn new things about your Georgia Coast, interact with marine biologists and CRD staff, and see the interesting critters that inhabit our unique ecosystem.
A variety of livestreamed sessions are being offered via YouTube Live and hosted on the Coastal GA DNR website. You'll have the chance to meet marine biologists, learn about what they do to conserve Georgia's Coast and ask questions in real time, all from the safety and comfort of your home or classroom.
Be sure to mark your calendars and tune in live!
How Virtual CoastFest 2020 will work:
This year, students, teachers and the public are invited to tune in live to the Coastal GA DNR YouTube Channel. The videos are embedded in the schedule links below, along with a chat box. When the livestreams begin, you’ll be introduced to a staff member who is an expert in their field. After the introduction, a short video will be played explaining that person's program. Following the video, there will be a live question-and-answer segment for the public to learn more about each program.
These videos will be archived and available for viewing after the livestream ends. Anyone with questions about Virtual CoastFest may contact Tyler Jones at 912-262-3140 or tyler.jones@dnr.ga.gov.
