Bacon Cheeseburger Garbage Bread
A hearty stuffed bread to satisfy the appetite of even the hungriest Junkyard Dawg!
Ingredients:
2 lbs. ground beef
12 oz. American cheese slices (about 30 slices)
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1½ lbs. pre-made pizza dough, at room temperature
5 Tbsp. ketchup
2 Tbsp. yellow mustard
1 medium red onion, finely chopped
12 strips cooked bacon, broken in half
One 32-oz. jar dill pickle chips (35 to 40 chips)
Sesame seeds, for garnish
For sauce:
½ c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. dried onion flakes
1 tsp. sugar
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400ºF and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium heat 8-10 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet into a large bowl, allow to cool, then stir in half of cheese, chopped. Roll dough into a rectangle and arrange beef and cheese mixture on half. Drizzle 2 tbsp. of ketchup over beef and uncovered dough, then repeat with mustard and red onion. Lay remaining cheese slices down on dough with no beef on it. Arrange bacon and dill pickle chips over beef mixture. Gently roll up dough into a log and pinch the ends together to seal it. Brush log with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Whisk together mayonnaise, onion flakes, sugar, salt, pepper, 2 tbsp. dill pickle and 1 tsp. of pickle brine in a bowl. Slice bread and serve with special sauce.
