To celebrate this momentous occasion of the St. Simons Lighthouse’s 150th birthday, a laser light show was presented nightly over Labor Day Weekend. Created by the Coastal Georgia Historical Society and Castano Group, thousands of lumens of laser illumination were used to transform the white tower of the lighthouse into a movie screen, where the thrilling tales of sailors, keepers, and families who have used the Aid to Navigation over the past 150 years were brought to life. Paired with a dynamic soundtrack, the projection show gave the audience an immersive experience into the deep history of our lighthouse, an iconic symbol of our community. Our friend Andy Jones captured the show using his drone for his YouTube channel The Minorcan Mullet and has generously allowed us to share it here. Click HERE or on the image below to start.
