The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation will distribute a record $146,800 to 23 organizations for its 2021 Community Impact grant initiative. These grants will be distributed directly to organizations providing critical, innovative and effective services to at-risk youth and their families in Glynn, Camden and McIntosh Counties. By focusing on a holistic approach to the youth, family, and multi-generational family structure, agencies work to break through barriers caused by lack of access to educational support, emotional and mental well-being, parenting classes, literacy, and provide mentoring opportunities. This distribution represents the greatest dollar amount of funded grants in the Foundation’s history for its annual competitive grant program. The Foundation annually budgets $75,000 for this grantmaking cycle, but generous Foundation fund holders and supporters contributed an additional $71,800 when greater need was communicated.
