Calling all Parrotheads--and anyone who would love to spend a night in Key West without leaving St. Simons Island. The Coastal Symphony of Georgia invites you to The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on Friday, May 20 for an Escape to Margaritaville at Cabaret 2022. A Virtual Visit to Key West

Cabaret Chair Meredith Deal, Symphony President Marjorie Mathieu, along with fellow Steering Committee members Sharon Flores and Kern Baker, and Men’s Committee Chairs Jimmy Bishop and Drew Holland, have been busy planning this 18th annual signature fundraising event. Their vision is a casually elegant evening under the stars that evokes that “changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes” laid-back island vibe of the Keys but still has the buzz of excitement that always accompanies Cabaret. No formal attire required. Dress festively and ready to have fun!

The night begins with the most popular activity in Key West: cocktail hour! Beginning at 6:00 p.m., there will be booze in the blender rendering the event’s namesake frozen concoction, but if a margarita isn’t your beverage of choice, plenty of other options will be available to quench your thirst. Whether the menu for the seated dinner that follows includes a cheeseburger in paradise, complete with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and French-fried potatoes, remains to be seen, but the food is sure to be delicious. Beloved local trop rock troubadour Leo Dean will be on hand to with guitar and steel drums to perform tunes made famous by Jimmy Buffett. Don’t be afraid to sing along with those classic hits. We know you know the words by heart!

Cabaret is known for its live and silent auctions, offering wonderful items donated by local merchants and exciting trips, including destinations in the U.S. and abroad (Tuscany). Everyone is invited to participate in the silent auction, even if you aren’t attending the event or a Coastal Symphony of Georgia patron. All bids will be made exclusively via your cellphone at the event (or from home on your computer or tablet), so please pre-register and bring your cell phone with you to the event. You’ll be able to set a text alert if you are outbid or pre-set a bidding limit that allows the system to place your bids automatically, so you don’t need to continuously check whether you’re winning. Because you’ll pay securely via phone, there won’t be long check-out lines; you’ll simply pick up your items. Detailed instructions will be provided at a later date.
