APRIL EXHIBIT:
Golden Isles Arts & Humanities and Keep Golden Isles Beautiful are proud to present the Annual Recycled Art Exhibit in the Wilcox Gallery at the Historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Brunswick. This exhibit features imaginative works that turn “trash” into treasures. Opening Reception will be held during First Friday festivities on April 5, from 5-8pm.
Each year area students create imaginative visions and unique objects in just about every medium using discarded materials. The exhibit celebrates creativity and sustainability by showing unique ways that discarded items can become expressive works of art. The art is judged and awarded first, second, third and honorable mentions in four age divisions based on creativity and best use of recycled materials.
The show continues through April 26th. Wilcox Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., during performances and by appointment. Anderson Fine Art Gallery - 3309 Frederica Rd.
Works on display in Anderson Fine Art Gallery include an outstanding group of professional and emerging artists and offers landscapes, still life, and some non-representational works. Seasonal exhibitions complement their curated core collection of paintings and sculpture.
From April 25 - May 28, Anderson Fine Art Gallery will be hosting the 8th Annual Impressionist Small Works Showcase. This juried show will be judged by DAN BECK ais Master. There will be an opening reception Friday, April 26 and a Wet Paint Exhibit and Sale Saturday, April 27. Anderson Studio Gallery - 100 Sylvan Drive, Suite 170
Anderson Studio Gallery, formerly known as the Artists Annex, located right around the corner from Anderson Fine Art Gallery, is now a remodeled gallery, featuring pop-up exhibits and is the location for the many workshops hosted by Anderson Fine Art Gallery. These workshops have been held for more than 15 years and are taught by professional artists from across the country who come to the island to instruct fellow painters. Students travel year-round to attend the studio and plein air workshops. Full workshop schedule can be found at workshopsonstsimonsisland.com and attached below. Artist Sherry Egger also offers private instruction by appointment in the studio.

Glynn Visual Arts - 106 Island Drive
MARCH 26-MAY 3: TEACH. LEARN. INSPIRE. This exhibition features a wide array of art mediums and styles created by a representative group of dedicated Glynn Visual Arts instructors. Watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting; mixed media collages; graphite, charcoal, and ink sketches; pottery and more are showcased in this six-week exhibition in the Portman Gallery at GVA. Included are 7 GVA instructors: Deborah Karwisch, Jennifer Broadus, Debbie Craig, Ann Marie Dalis, Cullen Peck,Tom Quinn, and Lynn St. Clair. Hotel Simone - 1200 Ocean Boulevard
Trish Rugaber is the current Artist in Residency at Hotel Simone in partnership with Glynn Visual Arts (GVA). Rugaber is the sixth artist to be featured in this series since its launch in January of 2023. GVA is the oldest arts organization in the area with a mission to enrich the community by stimulating interest and participation in the visual arts while providing St. Simons Island and the broader Golden Isles community with a center for creative expression, a source of art education, and a showcase for art and artists both locally and nationally celebrated.
A 'Meet the Artist' reception is planned for Thursday, April 11 in the hotel's lobby from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., and all members of the community are invited to attend. Hotel Simone’s new operations manager Virginia Hall will be present to offer guided tours of the hotel suites and common areas. Light refreshments will be available for purchase. Crafts in the Village returns to Postell Park on St. Simons Island. Come shop handmade and original art, skincare, candles, specialty foods and more from local artists and makers. Free to attend. Visit the Crafts in the Village Facebook page to see previews of vendors participating each month and any special activities or live music. Vendors on site 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.
Saturday April 13
Join the St. Simons Heritage Coalition and Glynn Visual Arts at Historic Harrington School on St. Simons Island for "School Days - Art & Games," an event celebrating the school's 100th anniversary. The two organizations will host a day of fun activities from 11am-2pm. The Heritage Coalition will lead guests in “school yard games and songs” that students participated in when they attended the school in the 1900s. Glynn Visual Arts will also sponsor a “Creation Station” where “kids of all ages” can participate in numerous art projects. All activities are offered free of charge. However, contributions are welcome to help establish an endowment for the long-term care and management of the historic school building.
