The 12th Annual Sea Palms Rally for the Cure Golf and “Fun-Raising” Event co-sponsored by the Sea Palms 18-hole and 9-hole Ladies Golf Associations will be held on March 31st at Sea Palms Golf and Tennis Resort. The event includes four person scramble teams—ladies, men, and mixed teams playing in an 18-hole handicap golf tournament. Check in is at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., followed by lunch and prizes. Be sure to bring your checkbook, because there are going to be more than 40 great raffle items. All proceeds will be donated to the local Coastal Georgia Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which provides grants to local organizations that fight breast cancer, such as the Southeast Georgia Health System’s mobile Mammograms in Motion.
Mammograms in Motion brings together area physicians, community health centers and county health departments to provide breast health education and outreach, screening mammograms and diagnostic breast work-up services to uninsured and medically underserved individuals residing in Camden, Glynn, Long and McIntosh counties. Since inception in 2011, Mammograms In Motion has provided well over 600 mammograms, physicians’ visits and biopsies to patients who otherwise would not have had treatment for reasons like out of pocket costs, transportation, and lack of access to care.
Registration for the golf tournament is $80 per person, which includes a $20 donation to Rally for the Cure, golf, lunch and refreshments, tournament prizes, Rally Hole, free magazine subscription, take away gifts and more. Pick your own foursome or you can sign up individually and a team will be formed. There will be pre-registration and silent auction at the Putter’s Club from 5-7 p.m. the evening before the tournament.
