Fort Frederica National Monument recently held its annual African American History Festival. It featured exhibitors from local institutions as well as brief presentations by LaTanya Abbott-Austin about the life and legacy of Robert S. Abbott and Griffin Lotson, Global Goodwill Ambassador and Expert Federal Commissioner on the National Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission. The Gullah Geechee Ring Shouters performed traditional ring shouts.
