Recently the Coastal Georgia Historical Society held a reception honoring the Society’s Keepers of the Light at the A.W. Jones Heritage Center. At the event, they announced the completion of the capital campaign to fund the new World War II Home Front Museum. The 18-month long campaign raised more than $3.6 million. This new museum, slated to open in October of this year will be the only permanent, standalone museum in the country relating to the World War II home front story.
