This year, following cancellation of the Shrimp and Grits Festival due to Hurricane Irma, Jekyll Island held a mash-up event combining highlights from that popular festival with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony that kicks off the holiday season. In addition to the delicious offerings of the Southern seafood specialty from various vendors, attendees enjoyed live music on multiple stages, an art market, and lots of activities for the kids. Visits with Santa, a viewing of Elf, snow, and fireworks rounded out the weekend!
