On Sunday, November 29th Straton Hall Events and Elegant Island Living will present what will unquestionably be one of the most exclusive and unique events of the holiday season.
Tempted promises to be unlike any fundraiser you’ve ever experienced in the Golden Isles. Guests will be met by the flashing strobes of paparazzi when they arrive at The Southern Table and Straton Hall building where the party begins. Newcastle
Street in Historic Downtown Brunswick will be closed to traffic between Gloucester and Monck Streets for this epic party and street soirée. They’ll take a walk on the incredible live red carpet that must be seen to be believed and pose for photos by The Darkroom Photography. The red carpet treatment is exactly what guests will receive as they are personally guided through the seven distinct themed areas that make up the Tempted event. Each area will have its own unique décor with music, food, and cocktails setting the tone. All of the tableaux will be professionally lit by P.O. Sound & Lighting with a focus on creating beautifully dramatic settings that will make sure everyone gets a little tempted.
To start the evening, you’ll check in and meet your personal hostess for the evening in the The Lobby. Here you will taste your first sip of the pleasures that await when you’re given your own martini shaker keepsake filled with “So Little Time,” a peach and cranberry concoction made potent with smooth Vixen Vodka.
If it’s music you want, you’ll find lots of it. You’ll have four delightful detours where you can dance and indulge in the delicious fare while surrounded by melody. While sipping on that aptly named cocktail, your group will head over to The Speakeasy where the sassy vocals and unique arrangements of old favorites and new original tunes by Jamie Renee & The Walkers (formerly known as Peas & Carrots)
will fill the air. We invite you to take a moment of that fleeting time to bask in the amazing atmosphere. There’s so much to be seen and such exquisite detail at every stop that it’s almost impossible to take it all in. Here, red centerpieces with mercury glass and flickering candles glow against yards and yards of red and black cloth. And you’ll certainly have more than your fill of tasty edibles throughout the night. In The Speakeasy, sexy servers in fishnet stockings and stilettos will offer up delectable bites like Shrimp in Purgatory and pork belly tacos. “The Black Leather Whip,” your second cocktail of the evening, is the perfect kind of “punishment.”
Your escort will then lead you to the Gatekeepers. These muscle-bound, bare-chested guardians will grant you permission to head upstairs to The Landing where a gorgeous ice sculpture will be flowing with more libations.
In The Studio your senses will come alive with delight when you see and smell all the fresh flowers and incredible array of food being presented. We are keeping some of what is being planned here a secret, but we will say that it’s sure to be the talk of the town. A sushi display that looks almost too good to eat, a rich carrot bisque, and mini caramel apples are just some of the fare that will tantalize your taste buds in The Studio. A bright and citrusy
blood orange Vixen martini is the ideal pairing.
When your guide calls, you’ll be led away from temptation to a higher level in The Loft. All white décor, white lilies, and the misty fog that floats across the floor will call to mind a land beyond the pearly gates. It won’t just be the Vegas showgirl-style wings worn by the servers that will make you think they’re angels, the white chocolate mousse and magical sorbet are heaven on a spoon. No Gideon with a trumpet here though, it will be the jazz man Travis Brown and his saxophone making musical magic. Red glitter bonbons sparkle brightly to remind you to enjoy the sweet things in life.
Soon, it will be time to head downstairs where you can cat around in the New Orleans street fair style atmosphere in The Alley. We don’t need to wait ’til Mardi Gras to let the good times roll! Sax sensation and soulful crooner Michael Hulett will bring the Bourbon Street feel to you as the soirée continues outside.
Next mosey on over to The Square. There, you can sip on “Divine Punishment,” kick up your heels and dance the night away with Island Sound spinning the tunes and keeping everyone entertained with their high energy. Don’t forget to drop by Studio PixelPop’s photo booth to capture the memories of your group’s happy faces. And you won’t go home hungry! Here you’ll discover a special station serving up toasty deliciousness in a way that’s sure to make you smile. While we don’t want to give everything away, we’ll just say the accompanying Marion’s Loaded Bloody Mary will make the perfect companion to what is being planned. And before you leave, you’ll be invited to choose another keepsake that you can take home to cure what ails you when all the temptation of this evening is gone.
This is a night you won’t want to miss! The evening’s fun will begin at 6:00 p.m. and we’ll reluctantly say goodbye at 10:00 p.m., but you can always continue the party on your own from there. If transportation or parking is a worry, don’t let that stop you. Lighthouse Trolleys is providing service to and from the party for only $10 roundtrip. They’ll have two trolleys departing and returning from Morningstar Marina all evening for the guests, so you don’t even have to drive across the causeway. We’ve thought of everything!
Proceeds from Tempted will benefit the Al Holland Medical Fund of the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, which is used to provide life-saving care to injured or sick animals who arrive at the shelter. David Butler, publisher of Elegant Island Living states “We are excited to join Straton Hall Events in this worthwhile cause. Stacy and Jay know how to throw a party! And what better organization than the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.” Virginia Schlegel, Executive Director of the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, is proud to see support coming in from this year’s Tempted event: “The Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia is delighted to be the receiving charity for donations at the Tempted event! A little glamour and a good time will provide much needed support to our Medical Fund – an area that enables us to give needed medical and surgical care to adoptable animals waiting on permanent families to take them home. A special thanks to EIL and Straton Hall Events for thinking of the animals in our community!”
Tickets for Tempted are $75 a person or $120 a couple, and there are a limited number available, so you’ll want to get yours before they’re gone. Call Straton Hall Events at 912.275.8294 to purchase by phone or go to elegantislandliving.net and order online.
