In the Foundation Focus series, Davis Love Foundation (DLF) begins a new series of highlights focused on The RSM Classic and its impact on our community.
In the Golden Isles, we are in the unique position of having each branch of the armed services – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard - within the surrounding area. These men and women who serve and have served our great nation devote their lives to protect our freedoms. From the very first RSM Classic in 2010, we knew we wanted to recognize and show our appreciation for the military.
We are also fortunate to have a specialized group of firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, police officers, rescuers and many other first responders who are dedicated to serving our community 24 hours a day. Just consider, the EMS division of Glynn County Fire-Rescue alone responds to an average of 972 calls per month. Many of these same people are instrumental in the success and safe operation of The RSM Classic each year. They deserve our thanks as well.
So to honor and support both the military (active and retired service members) and local first responders, The RSM Classic offers complimentary Patron Pass tickets to the tournament, as well as access to the Heroes Outpost. The Heroes Outpost is a covered hospitality venue providing front-row golf viewing alongside Seaside’s #9 green, featuring complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages provided by Sea Island Resort. This is all made possible through the efforts of the Davis Love Foundation and RSM, along with long-time venue sponsor, Heritage Plastics, plus other supporting sponsors such as Henshaw Companies, AT&T, American Exchange, SERVPRO and Chick-fil-A.
“It is important for us to show respect and to honor military members and first responders for the commitment and sacrifices they make for our well-being,” said Davis Love III, RSM Classic Tournament Host, 21-time PGA TOUR winner and 2022 US Presidents Cup Captain. “We are appreciative to our tournament partners for enabling us to celebrate and provide this special fan experience to these heroic men and women.”
Limited sponsorship opportunities are available for the Heroes Outpost. In its first twelve years, The RSM Classic, hosted by Davis Love III, has raised nearly $29 million to support local and national charities. The 2022 PGA TOUR event is November 14-20 at Sea Island Golf Club.
