Kitchens by Design is the collaboration of two Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers, Maureen Hodor and Lane Applegate. The two met in 2004 while working in a high-end showroom at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC). Both Maureen and Lane have specialized education in kitchen and bath design and are recognized by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers (CKD).
With a combined 23 years of experience in the kitchen and bath industry, Maureen and Lane have fine-tuned their project management and design skills to create an enjoyable design process with a beautiful end result. Beyond designing exquisite cabinetry, Kitchens by Design is an active member of the project team. They share a common goal to provide knowledge of the latest technologies and products, superior design, and service to their clients.
Why should you choose to work with a certified Kitchen and Bath Designer? When you start a remodel or building process, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer number of options and decisions that need to be made. Not only do you need to determine the layout and functionality of the space, but you need to choose the style of cabinetry (inset, full overlay or frameless), the appliances, tile, lighting, flooring, countertops, and the list goes on. A Kitchen Designer has not only maneuvered this process many times, but has a specialized education in the kitchen and bath field. Kitchens by Design works hard to help you achieve your new ideal space, without sacrificing quality, style, and your overall budget.
A Kitchen Designer can also help you to avoid mistakes, and one way they do this is by providing detailed drawings of your space with precise measurements and labels for all areas. You will not have to think about where your oils or pots should be stored ever again. They all have a home in your new kitchen because Maureen and Lane have figured it out for you! You will also have outlets in the proper locations, correct openings for your appliances, and appropriate distances between work stations and cabinetry.
Kitchens by Design represents a select group of cabinet makers. They have selected each of these partners for their strengths so that they can offer you a wide variety of wood species, finish options, door styles, and cutting edge storage solutions. Why choose cabinetry made by a nationally recognized manufacturer? Let’s face it, many craftsmen can build a nice cabinet. But the quality of the finish that comes out of a facility that maintains humidity levels, has a designated finishing departments, has a precise 12-17 step finishing process will hands down be a better quality then what is done in an unregulated “shop” somewhere in Georgia. But if you’re still not convinced, look at the finish of a “shop built” cabinet vs. high-end manufacturer that has been used in a home for 5 years. The finish from the manufacturer should still look great because Kitchens by Design works with companies that proudly offer extensive warranties to insure that your investment in cabinetry is as timeless as the design.
Always striving to exceed expectations, Maureen and Lane are professional, organized, and pay exceptional attention to detail. From concept to design implementation and installation and through the finishing touches, they will be by your side the entire way. They would love to share the fresh enthusiasm that they bring to each design and welcome the opportunity to work with you on your next project.
