The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation is now affiliated with Golden Isles Fund for Trees (GIFT). GIFT will be a component fund under the Foundation umbrella. GIFT’s mission is to provide for the preservation and enhancement of the tree canopy in Glynn County through the planting and replacement of trees, education and advocacy. The organization’s vision is to unite residents, property owners, the business community, local governments and environmental professionals in this mission. The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation will accept tax-deductible contributions from individuals, corporations and other organizations on behalf of GIFT. The fundraising campaign launched on November 1 and the start-up goal is to raise $50,000 by year-end. Glynn County residents Sandy Turbidy, Miriam Lancaster, Jan Lemasters, Kay Cantrell and Joy Elliott will serve as the initial advisory board to the Foundation for grantmaking.
