During the recent 2019 Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference in LaGrange, the Golden Isles CVB was awarded the Al Burrus Award for Creative Expression by Gov. Brian Kemp and Interim Deputy Commissioner, Tourism Division Lisa Love. This prestigious award is given to an organization that develops a creative community public relations initiative. The CVB was recognized for its successful Golden Isles Hospitality Celebration, an annual event recognizing the accomplishments of the Golden Isles tourism industry and those who contribute to its success. Scott McQuade, President and CEO of the Golden Isles CVB was pleasantly surprised to receive the award. “This award has special meaning to our community as we have been recognized for our ability to work together and celebrate our collective successes” said McQuade. “We could not have achieved the record growth in tourism working as individuals and I commend all the tourism partners and their staff members that have rallied with the CVB to create an incredible team effort. This award truly belongs to the community and all those who work tirelessly in our local hospitality industry.”
