What makes you smile? Dr. John Weaver knows that every day spent smiling is a good day, and he spends his days in the smile business. At Weaver Orthodontics, he focuses on keeping both his patients and their families happy throughout every aspect of their treatment, and he keeps the smiles coming!
A graduate of University of Georgia, the Medical College of Georgia, and The University of Rochester-Eastman Dental Center, Dr. Weaver has practiced orthodontics for over 16 years in the Golden Isles area at locations in Brunswick and Jesup. Dr. Weaver prides himself on offering the latest technology when it comes to treatment options. New computer scanning equipment called iTero helps Weaver make digital impressions of his patient’s teeth and bite. "It’s important to me to make the treatment experience efficient and effective," says Weaver. “I want my patients to be comfortable and to get the results we want as quickly as possible. Nothing makes me happier than seeing that wide beaming grin of a patient at the end of treatment,” Weaver says. “That’s what it’s all about.”
“What I’ve noticed in my practice over the last few years is the number of adults that are getting treatment. Thanks to products like Invisalign and clear braces, adults can have the smile they’ve always wanted and not have their lives interrupted.” Lindsay Stewart started Invisalign a few months ago and loves it. "Invisalign was the perfect ortho option for me that did more than just straighten my teeth. It has allowed me to stay social, remain professional and feel beautiful. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Weaver and his marvelous staff. Their expertise and friendly atmosphere made this experience wonderful," she shares.

He promotes free screenings and growth and development checks with local pediatricians. He provides hygiene events for local dentists and hygienists to better prepare them to spot problems. Dr. Weaver also takes time to meet with each nurse from the local schools. “School nurses need to know how to deal with minor orthodontic emergencies and have the tools to do it,” he explains.
Weaver Orthodontics sponsors school events throughout Glynn County, including the Super Dolphin Day Race, photo booths at events, health fairs, and Weaver also welcomes the opportunity to sponsor patients as they pursue extracurricular activities. Looking for a way to bring upbeat fun to your party? Dr. Weaver will even spin tunes as a DJ for community events when asked. He is also very proud to be the local chapter of Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, a program that provides orthodontic treatment to underserved children.
At home, Weaver isn’t the only doctor in the house, his wife, Dr. Missy Weaver, is the medical director at the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia. They have five boys, ages 12 and under. While Dr. Weaver admits sometimes their house may feel like a zoo with the chaos of children and pets, he wouldn’t have it any other way. An active member of St. Simons Community Church, Weaver knows he is blessed and feels called to pay it forward. “Whether it’s in my office or in the community, it’s my goal to serve where I can and with a smile,” says Weaver.
