Since 1979 Keep Brunswick-Golden Isles Beautiful has organized volunteers to help keep the Golden Isles clean, green and beautiful. Originally established as the Brunswick-Glynn County Clean Community Commission, in 1987 the name was changed to Glynn Clean and Beautiful and then to Keep Brunswick-Golden Isles Beautiful in 1997. “Our organization has a long history in the Golden Isles and we celebrate our 35th anniversary with a new name: Keep Golden Isles Beautiful,” said board chairman Kelly Bennett. “The name change and new logo reflect an emphasis on our entire community, from our western border to the Atlantic Ocean.” Representatives of the local business community, hospitality industry, convention and visitor bureau and marketing realm were consulted regarding the update. “There will be a transition period where old and new logo and names overlap,” said Keep Golden Isles Beautiful executive director Lea King-Badyna. “By this fall the Keep Golden Isles Beautiful brand will be fully in place.”
