At the College of Coastal Georgia, success ripples outward, across classrooms, families, and businesses, reaching every corner of the Golden Isles. In 2025, those ripples grew stronger than ever, fueled by record enrollment, groundbreaking programs, and a steadfast commitment to student success.
This academic year opened with remarkable energy. Enrollment surged past 3,700 students, the highest in the College’s history, and every on-campus housing space was filled. The University System of Georgia recognized this achievement with the Chancellor’s Cup for enrollment growth, marking an unprecedented fourth consecutive win. Beyond numbers, the accolade affirms Coastal Georgia’s welcoming, student-centered culture that continues to attract learners from across the state and beyond.
The College’s growth is also shaping the region’s future workforce. In June, Coastal Georgia broke ground on a major expansion of Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Hall, home to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Featuring advanced simulation labs and training spaces, the new wing will allow the College to graduate more nurses and healthcare professionals, supporting one of the Golden Isles’ largest economic sectors and ensuring stronger community healthcare for years to come.
The ripple effects of education are felt throughout the community. Coastal Georgia celebrated the first graduates of its innovative Paraprofessional to Certified Teacher Pathway program this spring, directly placing new teachers in local classrooms. The graduating class included 66 first-generation students, 103 non-traditional learners, and 21 military-affiliated graduates, each a testament to the College’s mission of access and opportunity.
Beyond academics, Mariners are making waves through service, athletics, and leadership. Students contributed more than 9,000 service-learning hours to community projects. On the national stage, the Cyber Defense Club rose 60 spots in rankings, and five students completed the rigorous Honors Program. Six golf players earned All-American Scholar honors, and standout softball player Rylee Mills was nominated for The Sun Conference’s prestigious A.O. Duer Scholarship Award.
Last fall marked a historic milestone: the 60th anniversary of the College’s first classes. What began as a small two-year school has since evolved into a vibrant four-year public institution, fueling more than $100 million annually into the local economy while also enriching the cultural and civic fabric of the Golden Isles. From advancing healthcare initiatives to opening a new Center for the Arts, each achievement continues to send ripples of progress throughout the community.
At Coastal Georgia, one student’s success inspires peers, strengthens families, fuels businesses, and uplifts communities. The ripple begins here, but its impact reaches far beyond campus, shaping the future of our region.
