The City of Brunswick Historic Preservation Board and Historic Brunswick Foundation recently presented The Torras Foundation and The Visitors Club Preservation Fund with an award for Excellence in Historic Preservation. These awards are presented to property owners, businesses, and/or organizations that have contributed excellence in preservation to the community during the 2022-2023 year and were nominated for the honor. Michael Torras of The Torras Foundation credits the forward-thinking leadership of City Manager Regina McDuffie for allowing this project to happen and the hard work and incredible generosity of our amazing local business community for the successful follow-through, right up to the pièce de resistance, the original restored weathervane completed by Sea Island Forge.
