With roughly 20 years of experience, Driftwood Construction owner Wes Hooks has worked on projects ranging from large-scale developments to minor renovations, giving him a deep and diverse understanding of the industry. He worked on teams that built the Perry Lane hotel in Savannah and the vehicle preparation center on Colonel’s Island, as well as the company that completed the expansion of I-95 through Glynn County. This Georgia Southern graduate holds a degree in construction management and the work ethic of a man who grew up on his family’s cattle farm in Moultrie. A family man himself, Wes is married with two sons, Hudson and Barrett. His wife, Chrissy, was born and raised in Glynn County and currently teaches middle school at Frederica Academy after spending a decade as a teacher at Glynn Middle School. His sons attend Frederica Academy, and play football, basketball, and soccer. Wes has not only been active as a coach for his sons’ sports, but he’s also active in the community as a member of the Glynn County Board of Tax Assessors, a member of our local Ducks Unlimited chapter, and even serves on his neighborhood HOA. He knows how to deal with people, understands team dynamics, and knows how to work toward a successful result. These traits are invaluable as a contractor.
