It’s time for the 16^th Annual Red Hot Rotary Chili Cookoff at Postell Park on St. Simons Island. The event takes place on Saturday, March 4. Judging begins at 11:00 a.m. Gates open and ticket-holding “Official Tasters” can make their rounds to cast votes for their favorites in the People’s Choice competition between 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. In addition to the popular vote winner in the People’s Choice, judges will present awards for Judged Competition Best Chili, Best Heat, Most Unique, and Best Booth Theme. The chili teams always bring the heat and make this a fun and hotly contested challenge. Live music adds to the day’s festive atmosphere. Awards ceremony takes place at 2:15 p.m. Tickets are available for $8 at the gate or can be purchased in advance for $5 adults and $3 children 7 and under.
