2019 Coastal Georgia Honor Flight - Welcome Home Celebration
to
Brunswick Golden Isles Airport 295 Aviation Pkwy, Brunswick, Georgia 31525
The community is invited to come out to the Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport on Saturday night to welcome home our veteran heroes from their day in DC. This is a wonderful way to show our appreciation for their service and continued dedication to honoring their sacrifices.
2019 Honor Flight welcome home
The Coastal Georgia Honor Flight has been established to honor the community’s veterans for all of their sacrifices. Their mission is to fly heroes via private, chartered airliner, from Coastal Georgia (Camden, Glynn, McIntosh counties and others as space is available), to Washington, D.C. so that they may reflect at their national memorial. Priority is given to World War II veterans then Korean and Vietnam War survivors. Veterans who are terminally ill, from any conflict, get top priority. These heroes will travel absolutely free. Appropriate medical staff accompany each flight, so no veteran is turned away due to medical concerns if at all possible.
Seats have been filled to meet the goal of "filling the flight" with 90 veterans getting the trip of a lifetime. However, the ability to take these heroes on this special trip depends entirely on the generosity of businesses and individuals in the community. Please visit the Coastal Georgia Honor Flight web site to donate, volunteer or apply as a veteran to take an upcoming flight. www.coastalgeorgiahonorflight.org.
Sites visited during the one day trip include the World War II, Korean and Vietnam Memorials, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, including the famous Changing of the Guard Ceremony, the Marine Corps (Iwo Jima), Air Force and Navy Memorials as time permits.
Coastal Georgia Honor Flight is an affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network, which provides technical and travel support and helps arrange activities in Washington D.C.
