Author Talk: Kevin Powers and CHILDREN OF THE WILD
St. Simons Casino Building - Library/Theatre 550 Beachview Drive, Saint Simons Island, Georgia 31522
On August 13, Kevin Powers, supported by GJ Ford Book Shop, visits the St. Simons Literary Guild to talk about his most recent work, Children of the Wild. Author David Baldacci has called this haunting love story set in the Virginia mountains and on the battlefields of World War I France, “a wonderful, poignant novel that deserves to be on as many shelves and reside in as many hearts as possible.” Powers has been a finalist for the National Book Award for The Yellow Birds, and a recipient of the PEN/Hemingway Award. He was a James A. Michener Fellow in Poetry at the University of Texas at Austin from 2009-2012 and later held a Guggenheim Fellowship in Fiction. Talk takes place at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Simons Casino Theatre. To reserve your seat, visit litguildssi.org.
