Naturalist 101: Coastal Georgia is for the Birds!
to
One Hundred Miles 1312 Newcastle St., City of Brunswick, Georgia 31520
From March until August, Georgia’s beach nesting shorebirds like American Oystercatchers and
Wilson’s Plovers are busy laying eggs and raising chicks. And as idyllic as it can be to pass your days on the beach, there are many challenges that make raising a family extremely challenging for Georgia’s shorebirds. However, researchers and managers are working diligently to help increase success, here in Georgia and across the hemisphere. During this presentation, shorebird biologist Dr. Abby Sterling will share some of their stories of struggles and triumphs. You’ll also learn the simple steps you can take to protect our feathered friends. Free and open to the public, but advance registrations required! https://secure.onehundredmiles.org/page/s/Nat101LectureApr2019BWK
