Opening Reception for Then & Now: Art of the Lowcountry,

On Thursday, July 6, Glynn Visual Arts (GVA) will hold an opening reception for its landmark exhibition Then & Now: Art of the Lowcountry, commemorating its yearlong 70th Anniversary celebration. “GVA is pleased to honor the artists who came before and paved the way for our organization. We are also pleased to showcase current artists who are an influential part of GVA and who support us and our community,” says Exhibition Committee Chair Elizabeth LeSueur. The exhibit, which will be on display July 5 – August 4, presents includes works by Bill Hendrix (the artist who joined with other local artists 70 years ago to build the foundation for GVA) and Albert Fendig, one of GVA’s longest living members. Artists who create in a diverse range of styles and genres, mediums and techniques, will be highlighted, giving visitors the opportunity to reflect on the universal theme of time. The July 6 opening reception take place from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and many artists will be present.
