Gone, but not forgotten, (goauche on canvas) by professional artist Betty Oliver is accepted in the show as an example of art that "pops" off the canvas! Oliver’s painting remembers the beach kiosks that housed local art and artisan crafts at the Pier Village.
Glynn Visual Arts (GVA) presents a colorful, playful art exhibition, With a Pop, featuring GVA artist members' works either in the style of pop art or as a piece of art that pops!
Interpretations of this call to art range from a nod to the mid-century pop art movement to a contemporary use of bright colors and contrast in an otherwise more traditional painting.
With a Pop opens June 16 and the public is invited to a free reception with the artists on Thursday, June 18 from 4 to 7 pm at GVA, 106 Island Drive, St. Simons Island.
