Wontanara Percussions in Concert
to
The Ritz Theatre 1530 Newcastle St., Brunswick, Georgia 31520
The Global Arts Initiative (GAI) is proud to present Wontanara Percussions, an internationally acclaimed West African percussion and dance ensemble, as part of its Cultural Crossroads Concert Series. The performance will take place at The Historic Ritz Theater at 7:00 PM, offering an electrifying showcase of rhythm, movement, and tradition that unites audiences through the universal language of music.
Known for their dynamic performances and cultural impact, Wontanara Percussions is the world’s first Black-owned instrument manufacturer and artist development agency. Their music fuses traditional Malinké rhythms with the energy of modern jazz, funk, soul, and Afrobeat—performed on djembe, dunun, balafon, and other traditional instruments. Each performance is a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and connection.
“This concert is more than music—it’s a cultural dialogue that reminds us how rhythm connects us all. We’re thrilled to bring Wontanara Percussions to Brunswick and share this powerful expression of unity through the arts.” - Dr. Jordan Taylor, Founder & Executive Director of the Global Arts Initiative.
