World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup SSI

East Beach at the Old Coast Guard Station First Street, Saint Simons Island, Georgia
Join Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, BEACH.COM, and other hosts for World Oceans Day beach cleanups on St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. Local volunteers will join the ranks of others around the globe in this internationally recognized beach cleanup effort on Saturday, June 6.
To participate in the St. Simons Island cleanup, meet at the Old Coast Guard Station beach crossover (First Street) at 9:00 a.m. to receive supplies and instruction.
To participate in the Jekyll Island cleanup, meet inside the lobby of the Hampton Inn & Suites (200 S. Beachview Drive) at 8:00 a.m. to receive supplies and instruction.
“As stewards of our local beaches, World Oceans Day cleanups are a great opportunity Make A Difference in our own community while combining efforts with others around the globe,” said KGIB executive director Lea King-Badyna.
Register online at beach.com/cleanups to receive an official t-shirt. All ages and abilities are welcome, and all cleanup supplies will be provided. Sunscreen and hats are suggested.
