The Young People’s Summer Workshop (YPSW) has been an Island Players production since 1975, attracting 60 to 80 kids ages 8+ each year to be introduced to the wonderful world of theater. Not only do these young thespians have a great deal of fun and meet other kids to share the theater experience, but they also learn about stage etiquette and how to be a responsible team participant. This summer’s production, directed by Jeff Dempsey, is Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr. Shows featuring two alternating casts will take place at the St. Simons Casino Theatre, July 13-17, 20-24. Shows Wed-Sat 7:30pm with 3:30pm matinees on Sat & Sun. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the box office the day of the show. For more information, visit theislandplayers.com.
