Air Fryer Apple Fritters
Ingredients:
1½ c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. fine sea salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. whole milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. melted butter
3 Tbsp. applesauce
2 c. apples, finely diced (Honeycrisp work well)
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. olive oil
For glaze:
2 c. confectioner’s sugar
1/4 c. milk
Preparation:
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and sugar together. Create a well in the center to add milk, eggs, vanilla, butter, and applesauce. Mix wet ingredients, then fold into dry ingredients. Add diced apples and apple cider vinegar. Fold all ingredients together with a spatula until just combined. Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. Use large spoon or cookie scoop to drop large dollops of batter onto paper, working in small batches of 3-4 fritters at a time. Brush lightly with olive oil. Bake at 425°F for 7-8 minutes, until deeply golden, then flip to bake bottom side an additional 2-3 minutes. For glaze, whisk powdered sugar and milk together until smooth. Dip tops of cooked fritters in glaze, then let rest on a wire rack for 1-2 minutes or until the glaze is set. Best when served warm.
