Attention Cabernet connoisseurs and Gamay groupies, it’s once again time for that fabulous event that celebrates fashion as well as the fruit of the vine! Wine, Women & Shoes benefiting Hospice of the Golden Isles returns to The Cloister on Sea Island Saturday, January 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This fun day of sipping and shopping presented by Auxiliary of Hospice of the Golden Isles is becoming more popular each year, and you and your friends won’t want to miss out. Not only will you enjoy a delicious lunch and sip liberally from a phenomenal selection of wines, you’ll also have the opportunity to shop amazing designer fashions from an array of eclectic vendors. In addition, you can bid on outstanding auction lots and purchase raffle tickets for your chance to win your dream closet or a spectacular selection of wines.
Feel like showing off? Put your best foot forward--in your best shoe, of course—and enter the Best in Shoe contest. Every woman needs an occasion to show off her sassiest stilettos, her most bodacious boots, her wildest wedges, or her flirtiest flats! Judges will be looking, so make some heads turn! Another attention-getter is the fashion show portion of the afternoon. Based on past years’ experience, it’s safe to say that this is one of the best runways shows you’ll see in the Golden Isles. Upbeat and energetic, a large cast of models from the community rock the catwalk, showing off everything from sensational swimwear to elegant evening gowns.

And lest we forget…the Shoe Guys. One of the highlights of this event has always been the fellas that make up the Shoe Crew. These handsome and charismatic gents from our community will pamper you by pouring wine and passing through with trays showing off glamorous shoes and accessories. They’ll answer your questions and keep your glasses filled with a smile. They are also competing for the title of “King of Sole” by raising money through crowdwise.com. The Shoe Guy receiving the most donations will be “crowned” at the event. Competition is stiff, but it’s all good-natured fun. This year’s participants include: Jeremy James, Brandon Derrick, James Sexton, Jim Jacobs, John Weaver, Jonathan Jerusalmy, Justin Callaway, Mark Churchwell, Mike Cordle, Rich Nazzaro, Richard Heckle, Timothy Wilson, Ben Lee, Parker Lavin, Robbie Ross, David Rowell, JJ Lee, Josh Bain, David Benjamin, Robbie Richardson, and Zac Moxley. You know and love some of these guys for sure, so show ‘em your support by making a donation to their campaign and benefit the mission of Hospice of Golden Isles as well.

Hospice of the Golden Isles is a community-based, non-profit organization. For thirty-six years, this organization has provided unparalleled hospice care to patients with advanced illnesses and their families for our five-county area, regardless of a patient's ability to pay. HGI is a proud beneficiary of the United Way and they rely heavily on individual memorials, donations and fundraisers. Their ability to provide a continuance of quality care is largely dependent on the generosity of the communities that they serve.
Auxiliary of Hospice of the Golden Isles is a member-driven organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the mission of HGI. It is their goal to raise funds needed to help HGI focus on maintaining the dignity of their patients, providing physical comfort and pain management, and meeting the social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
