From July 5 – August 4, Glynn Visual Arts (GVA) presents landmark exhibition Then & Now: Art of the Lowcountry, commemorating its yearlong 70th Anniversary celebration. “GVA is pleased to honor the artists who came before and paved the way for our organization. We are also pleased to showcase current artists who are an influential part of GVA and who support us and our community,” says Exhibition Committee Chair Elizabeth LeSueur. The exhibit includes works by Bill Hendrix (the artist who joined with other local artists 70 years ago to build the foundation for GVA) and Albert Fendig, one of GVA’s longest living members. Artists who create in a diverse range of styles and genres, mediums and techniques, will be highlighted, giving visitors the opportunity to reflect on the universal theme of time. The opening reception will be held at GVA Thursday, July 6, 5:30-7:00 p.m. with many artists present. For more information, visit glynnvisualarts.org.
