May also marks the beginning of the eagerly awaited Little Light Music summer concert series presented by the Coastal Georgia Historic Society. Since 1998, residents and visitors have gathered on the oceanfront lawn beneath the Lighthouse for these special outdoor evening concerts. Bring your family, friends, blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic supper with your favorite beverages to enjoy this beloved community tradition!
On SATURDAY, MAY 24 (rescheduled from May 11 due to inclement weather), The Tams will kick things off with their high energy blend of beach music, Motown, and soul classics. These talented veteran performers are guaranteed to have the crowd singing along and dancing with them long before the night is over.
Local favorites Squirt Gun will bring their funky brand of 80s fun and hard driving guitar riffs to the stage on Sunday, June 15. With tunes that range from Yacht Rock to New Wave, there’s no party like a Squirt Gun party! You won’t want it to end!
Our Swampadelic friends out of Waycross, The Pine Box Dwellers provide the tunes on Sunday, July 27. From rockin’ covers to Americana originals, these fellas have been impressing audiences and growing a devoted following here for years, so you’re sure to have a great time.
The series wraps up on Sunday, August 31 with the sensational Sounds of Motown. This concert is always well-attended, so you’ll want to be there early to get a good spot on the lawn with enough space to dance! It’s the perfect way to close out the summer.
The concerts are from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to enjoy cooler evening breezes and a spectacular view of the sunset. Tickets are $20 for adults; children under 12 and Keepers of the Light are admitted free of charge. A season pass can be purchased for $60. Cash will not be accepted at the gate the evening of the concerts. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged and can be made in the Museum Store or online at coastalgeorgiahistory.org.
