Because our website calendar doesn't like events that last more than a day and often fails to display them properly, we're going to keep a running list of ART EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS right here with "Artie," the paint-splattered pooch as our mascot. Scroll through to see ongoing displays at our local galleries, followed by special art events we have listed by date.

March 25 - April 15: Laura Dunn - VERDANT RETREAT
Dunn’s work, based on florals and botanicals, is a celebration of nature in bloom and the perfect harbinger of spring. As a child, Laura grew up inside commercial greenhouses, which was her family’s business. Her earliest memories are of flowers that she examined at eye level and of being completely surrounded by hanging ferns. This perspective has stayed with her and is evident in her up-close approach to her paintings. In addition to presenting her works in this installation at GVA, Dunn is holding an evening “paint and sip” on Friday, April 11, for anyone interested in learning to paint our island botanicals up-close, vibrant and verdant!
The public is invited to attend an opening reception on Thursday, March 27 from 5:30-7pm.
