Brunswick-Glynn County Library - 208 Gloucester Street

November's featured artist in the Brunswick Library will be Gary "Gato" Grace of Atlanta North Art Gallery. His works will be on display and available for viewing during normal library hours in October. Stop by the Meet the Artist Reception during the Brunswick Art Loop - First Thursday Gallery Groove from 5-7 pm, November 6.

Historic Ritz Theatre - Wilcox Gallery - 1530 Newcastle Street

The Millie Wilcox Gallery at the Ritz is thrilled to showcase Best Friends in November. This exhibition of artwork by Catherine Durrett captures people and their pets and all creatures great and small. Come explore the creativity of this talented artist, mingle with fellow art lovers, and experience a night of artistic discovery during the Brunswick Art Loop, Thursday, November 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p. m. and during performances and events. Admission to all art exhibits in The Wilcox Gallery at the Ritz Theatre is free. SoGlo Art Gallery - 1413 Newcastle Street

ST. SIMONS ISLAND

Anderson Fine Art Gallery - 3309 Frederica Rd.

Works on display in Anderson Fine Art Gallery include an outstanding group of professional and emerging artists and offers landscapes, still life, and some non-representational works. Seasonal exhibitions complement their curated core collection of paintings and sculpture. 

November 14-29, the gallery will host a Pop-Up Show: "Music in the Air" featuring the works of Jane Hartley, with an Opening Reception on Friday, November 14 from 4-7pm. The inspiration for this collection comes from Kurt Vonnegut's 1952 book Player Piano in The Age of Automation. It is a story that explores the impact of technology on a society where automation replaces human jobs. Largely a relic of a different time, the player piano is a very early example of how technology impacted the way people related to music. Fast forward, AI and sophisticated robotics are now a huge part of our lives. The challenge is finding the balance between technological progress and the human spirit.

Anderson Studio Gallery - 100 Sylvan Drive, Suite 170

Anderson Studio Gallery, formerly known as the Artists Annex, located right around the corner from Anderson Fine Art Gallery, is now a remodeled gallery, featuring pop-up exhibits and is the location for the many workshops hosted by Anderson Fine Art Gallery. These workshops have been held for more than 15 years and are taught by professional artists from across the country who come to the island to instruct fellow painters. Students travel year-round to attend the studio and plein air workshops. Full workshop schedule can be found at workshopsonstsimonsisland.com and attached below. Artist Sherry Egger also offers private instruction by appointment in the studio.

ArtTrends Gallery - 3305 Frederica Road

Current display: "WHISPERS," a group exhibition featuring the works of guest artist Susan Coldwell. Meet the artist on Thursday, October 2 between 407pm during the Fall Art Stroll.

Glynn Visual Arts - 106 Island Drive

IN THE PORTMAN GALLERY  through November 21

Glynn Visual Arts presents two intentional artists with international roots in their Canvas Meets Clay exhibition, in the Portman Gallery. Abstract painter Ute Kleemann of St. Simons Island, GA, and ceramicist Navenka Gabrielson, who resides in St. Augustine, FL, will exhibit together for the first time to showcase their internationally-inspired works that have been miles in the making.

The GVA Holiday Art Market will open on Friday, November 28 and run through Tuesday, December 23, so you can find unique, original gifts at Glynn Visual Arts for everyone on your list. From decor to gifts and from Christmas Gnomes to pottery, jewelry, paintings, and more, you’ll find charming pieces in a variety of sizes and prices hand-made by local GVA artist members.

Golden Isles CVB Welcome Center - Live Oak Shop - 529 Beachview Drive

Nestled within the Golden Isles Welcome Center, the Live Oak Shop is a thoughtfully curated gallery boutique celebrating the natural beauty and timeless charm of the Golden Isles. Featuring original works, as well as matted and framed prints by acclaimed local and regional artists, the collection captures the landscapes, light, and coastal spirit of the Golden Isles. Whether you're a seasoned collector or seeking a meaningful memento, the Live Oak Shop offers elegant, artful expressions of place.

In November and December, there will be 11 original framed oil-on-canvas works by local artist Jennifer Broadus on display. Jennifer's newest collection captures the beauty of the Golden Isles--featuring luminous scenes of Village Creek, East Beach, Gould's Inlet, and other cherished local landscapes. Each piece showcases her signature style and deep connection to the coastal environment we all love. The exhibition will be on view throughout November and into December, giving locals and visitors alike an opportunity to experience and collect her latest works.

Julep Gallery - 269 Redfern Village and now upstairs at Dutchmans Casual Living

A colorfully curated new art gallery in Redfern Village on St. Simons Island. Everyone is welcome to visit. Open 11am-5pm Tuesday-Friday and 11am-3pm Saturday.

Jekyll Island Art Association - Goodyear Cottage - Historic District

November 1-24

The November Gallery Show at Goodyear Cottage for Jekyll Island Arts Association is “Creative Endeavors,” a compelling exhibit in painting & wood, featuring paintings by Linda Dotter and the wood creations of Hamp Stevens. Opening Reception is Sunday, November 2 from 1-3pm. Meet the artists and ask them about their creations. Beverages and snacks provided - the general public is welcome.

The Merry Artists Market at Goodyear Cottage will open Friday, November 28, offering one-of-a-kind gifts made by the artists of the Jekyll Island Arts Association. Find unique gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list. This month-long holiday market event will run through Monday, December 29, with artists on-site demonstrating their crafts on weekends.

Gallery hours are noon - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday. Admission is free.

Thursday, November 6

Visit the participating galleries on St. Simons Island for the Fall Art Stroll between 4-7pm. Guest artist Susan Colwell of Charleston will be in the house at ArtTrends Gallery 

The Brunswick Art Loop, First Thursday Gallery Groove showcases downtown galleries and specialty shops featuring new exhibits, opportunities to meet the artists, light refreshments and more from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The November Art Loop promises to be a great evening with some great art and experiences to enjoy.  The Wilcox Gallery in the Ritz Theatre still features Best Friends, the amazing artwork of people and pets by the talented Catherine Durrett.  Joining the Loop this month is Driftwood Wine & Cocktails- they will offer a special wine flight only for Art Loop participants; Makers Brunswick invites you to meet local artist, Alyson Tucker and view her colorful work of life in the Golden Isles – and all her paintings are 20% off the evening of the Art Loop! Black Sheep Pickers has vintage and antique furniture, collectibles and also on display that evening, another original art piece by Gene Threats; Gallery B features fine photography, and SoGlo Gallery will host an Opening Reception for "Explorations" featuring new works by local artist Barbara Northrup. The Brunswick Library will feature the work of Gary “Gato” Grace of Atlanta North Art Gallery. Be sure to stop in the Gallery on Newcastle and talk with artist Janet Powers; and don’t miss the chance to rummage for treasures at Rummage or take in some BBQ and music at Hootenanny’s at the Yard.

Art lovers are invited to a special evening of creativity and community from 4-7pm as Anderson Fine Art Gallery and ArtTrends Gallery team up for a joint event featuring two dynamic pop-up shows. At Anderson Fine Art Gallery, St. Simons Island resident Jane Hartley will present Music in the Air, a collection celebrated for its expressive style and lively compositions. It was inspired by Kurt Vonnegut’s 1952 book Player Piano in The Age of Automation. Just steps away, ArtTrends Gallery will highlight the vibrant work of Ken Wallin, whose colorful coastal and landscape paintings capture the essence of the Golden Isles. This one-night-only event invites guests to enjoy two unique artistic visions while strolling between the neighboring galleries. Meet the artists, mingle with fellow art enthusiasts, and celebrate the thriving art scene on St. Simons Island.

Friday-Sunday, November 28-30

Crafts in the Village returns to Postell Park on St. Simons Island for a special 3-day holiday event. Shop up to 70 artists and crafters offering coastal art, decor, jewelry, pottery, furniture, photography, hanging chairs, specialty food, skincare, candles, soaps, glass art, bird houses, wearables & more. Vendors on site 10am-5pm Friday & Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday. Check the Crafts in the Village social media pages for more vendor information and holiday features like visits from Santa! 

Friday, November 28 - Tuesday, December 23

The GVA Holiday Art Market opens Friday, November 28 at 10 am at the Visual Arts Center at 106 Island Drive on St. Simons Island. Goodyear Cottage, in the Historic District on Jekyll Island, becomes the Merry Artists Market beginning Friday, November 28, offering one-of-a-kind gifts made by the artists of the Jekyll Island Arts Association through Monday, December 29. You will find the most unique gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Artists will be on-site demonstrating their crafts on weekends during this month-long holiday market event.
