You’ll want to be on the scene in Historic Downtown Brunswick when the Jekyll and Hyde Pop & Horror Con presented by Hall of Heroes celebrates its 10th anniversary on October 19. With multiple venues and an outdoor market, this will be where thrills and chills, fandom and fun, pop culture and cosplay collide.
Jekyll Con, a self-described holiday nerd market for the southern Georgia and northern Florida area, began on Jekyll Island in December of 2014. Due its success, the event was expanded to a 2-day event in its third year. In 2017, the 2-day show diversified by adding "HYDE Horror Alley,” a section focusing on horror themed pop culture, and this continued in 2018.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, new show owner Hall of Heroes, based in Jacksonville, was able to present its 7th annual event in December 2020. The new Jekyll crew teamed up with Pop Vault to bring the show to Glynn Place Mall, providing a bigger and more accessible venue, free parking and free entry. This show marked the first year that Jekyll Con and Hyde Horror Alley were merged into Jekyll & Hyde Con. While 2023 was the first year no show was held, the event now returns for its 10th year in a BIG way in Historic Downtown Brunswick.
In cooperation with Discover Brunswick, the 2024 Jekyll and Hyde Pop & Horror Con will span the historic district between the Old City Hall to The Historic Ritz Theatre on Saturday, October 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will feature an outdoor vendors’ market, and multiple venues will host panels, performances, contests, and more. While exact details are still up in the air, there promises to be fun for all ages and we know that other downtown establishments will be hosting their own activities. Here’s a general idea of what you can expect.
