What better way to kick off the new year than with an event that celebrates creativity in art and epicurean delights? “The Art of Food” annual fundraiser for Glynn Visual Arts will return for its third year on Sunday, January 27.
Elements of a gallery cocktail reception and a wine pairing dinner are combined in this unique progressive-style evening. This extraordinary art and culinary experience will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Glynn Visual Arts Center at 106 Island Drive on St. Simons Island. While guests enjoy the works of artists in the gallery, they will be treated to cocktails and appetizers from Golden Isles Olive Oil that showcase the fresh flavors of the products carried in the gourmet market and wine bar located in Redfern Village. Guests will also explore "The Art of the Cocktail" and learn some great tips from a mixologist on preparing the "artful cocktail." You’ll leave itching to throw a party to show off your new skills!
For the next portion of the evening, guests will sit back and enjoy a trolley ride to Georgia Sea Grill, where an exciting culinary adventure awaits. Executive Chef Tim Lensch has carefully planned a custom menu designed to delight the palate just for this occasion. He will prepare and discuss each tastefully and artfully presented course. Perhaps duck and demi-glace or tenderloin and truffle butter? Seared sea bass or scrumptious scallops? Whatever Chef Tim serves, it is sure to highlight locally and regionally sourced ingredients and creative flavor combinations in Georgia Sea Grill's signature style. Each dish will be paired with a complementary wine to make for the perfect dining experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
