TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1
Pier Village Sip, Taste and Tour, 5-9 pm in Pier Village. Guests will get their “Passport to the Pier” with exciting ports of call and treasures all around the Pier Village. $25 ticket price will include SSFSF t-shirt or cap. Tickets available online and on-site.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2
First Bite Kick-Off Reception presented by HunterMaclean. 5:30-7 pm, at Halyards Courtyard. Invitation only Festival Kick-off reception thanking sponsors and supporters.
**Halyards and Tramici offer Festival Specials in addition to their nightly menus, immediately following First Bite, reservations encouraged.
Southern Soul Barbeque Alfresco Dinner a/k/a Bird and Beer Benefit. 8 pm at Southern Soul Barbeque. A 4 course craft brew and festival dinner menu, prepared by chef Comer Smith, and hosted by Giffin Bufkin and Harrison Sapp. Tickets $50, available online and at Southern Soul.
Trivia at Tipsy’s McSway’s Neighborhood Grill & Pub. Food & Spirits based trivia night with fabulous SSFSF prizes. Open to the public.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3
Maker’s Mark BBQ Pro-Am presented by Sea Island and Southern Soul Barbeque, 6-9 pm on Sea Island’s Rainbow Island. Bourbon, Blues and BBQ dinner featuring your hosts, PGA Tour pros, and visiting pitmasters, Jimmy Hagood, Justin and Jonathan Fox, and Tiffani Faison. Blues provided by Eric Culberson out of Savannah. Award-winning blogger Libbie Summers will emcee. Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online, at Southern Soul Barbeque and Halyards.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4
A Study in Shrimp, 12:30-2 pm, Sea Palms Resort, 515 N Windward Dr., A guided tasting featuring locally caught Pinks, Whites and Brownies, accompanied by a panel discussion exploring our coastal treasure moderated by Carolyn O’Neil. Panelists include James Beard Best Chef Southeast 2012 Linton Hopkins, Chef Jason Brumfiel of the King and Prince Resort, and Timmy Stubbs of Native Seafood. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online.
Reserve Wine Tasting 2:30-4 pm, Sea Palms Resort, 515 N Windward Dr. Guided tasting seminar by Sommelier Jacob Cragg/Sea Island. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online.
Traversing the Whiskey River; Bourbon Rye and American Whiskey 2:30-4 pm, Sea Palms Resort, 515 N Windward Dr. Guided tasting seminar analyzing the nuances of Bourbon, Rye and Whiskey featuring Byron Banks of Four Roses and a Maker’s Mark Brand Ambassador. Friday Afternoon Mixer 4:15-5:45 pm, Sea Palms Resort, 515 N Windward Dr. The Festival’s Happiest Hour (and a half). Celebrated mixologists Hallie Arnold/The Grocery, Charleston, SC, Arianne Fielder/Seven Lamps, Atlanta, GA and Jackson Holland/The Cocktail Club, Charleston, SC, will treat guests to lessons in all things craft cocktail! Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online.
Dinner and a Movie 6:30-9:30 pm at the St. Simons Casino Theatre/Atrium. Screening of the Southern Foodways Alliance “Pride and Joy” food documentary will kick things off with “Pimento Cheese, Please” and conclude with a special dinner catered by Straton Hall Events. Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for children 6-12, and may be purchased online.
Friday Night Festival Feast 7:30 pm at Halyards. Dave Snyder welcomes guest chefs: James Beard Best Chef Southeast 2012 Linton Hopkins, and St. Simons own Tom Delaney of Delaney’s Bistro, John Belechak from Palmer’s Village Cafe, and Sea Island’s Executive Chef, Jonathan Jerusalmy. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a 5 course dinner with wine pairings featuring the best of Georgia’s Golden Isles. Tickets are $200 and may be purchased online.

Southern Specialties Cooking Class 10 am-noon, Sea Palms Resort, 515 N Windward Dr. Cooking Class with food and cocktail tastings led by Charleston’s Carrie Morey featuring dishes from her new book, Callie’s Biscuits and Southern Traditions. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online.
Kids Cooking Class presented by Southeast Georgia Health System. 10am-noon (6-9 yrs old) and 12:30-3:30 (10-15 yrs old). Hands-on cooking classes for children 6-9 years old and 10-15 years old led by veteran kids cooking class instructor, Marilyn Merkle from Southern Season. Tickets are $50 and are available online.
The Market presented by Viola’s Market. 10:30am-4:30 pm. Stroll through over 50 tents featuring juried arts, crafts, farm stand and artisan produced culinary items. Book signings throughout the day featuring Carrie Morey, Libbie Summers, and Gena Knox. Open to the Public.
St. Simons Food & Spirits Festival Local Flavors Tasting Tent presented by Sea Pak. 12:30-3:30pm. Features tasting samples provided by more than 25 restaurants and 40 craft brew and fine wine vendors. Admission tickets are $45, include access to the Culinary Creations cooking stage, and are available online.
VIP Riverside Sporting Club presented by Elegant Island Living – 12-3:30pm VIP tickets gain you entrance to the Riverside Sporting Club tent, which will feature upgraded foods and beverages and TVs broadcasting your favorite sporting events. As a VIP, enjoy early access to the mixology and tasting tents, one-on-one interaction with featured culinary talent, and access to the Culinary Creations cooking stage and the Local Flavors Tasting Tent. VIP tickets are $85 and are available online and at Halyards.

Dine Around with Sea Island – Sea Island and The Lodge Sea Island is opening their dining outlets to festival guests for this one night only. In addition to the regular dinner menus, a “3 for $30” festival menu will be offered at Tavola, River Bar, Southern Tide, Oak Room and Davis Love Grill and “4 for $40" festival menu will be offered at The Georgian Room and Colt & Alison. Make reservations directly with Sea Island and make sure to mention SSFSF.

Spiritual Sunday Brunch presented by McGinty Gordon – 12:30-3:30pm at The Delegal Room at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort Wrap up festival weekend with a seated/served brunch featuring Charleston Bloody Marys stirred up by their creator, Jackson Holland. Carrie Morey will be offering an array of piping hot Callie’s Biscuits, Gena Knox will serve up Fire & Flavor-ful planked local fish, Libbie Summers will have guests praying for more of her Salvation Cinnamon Rolls, and Hallie Arnold and Arianne Fielder will be crafting creative morning-after libations. Tickets are $75 and are available online.
