Coastal Stewards: Landscaping for Stormwater

Participants will learn about the impacts of stormwater runoff before having an opportunity to design a rain garden plan for their own home with advice from experts in sustainable landscaping and stormwater engineering. Specialists from Georgia Forestry Commission, Coastal Resources Division of Department of Natural Resources and UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant will teach about green infrastructure practices that can be applied individually, locally and regionally through lectures and hands-on demonstrations. Special reduced price of $20 thanks to funding provided by Georgia Power. The workshop runs 5-8 p.m. on Friday night and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday. Dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday are provided.
