The Rotary Club of St. Simons Island recently donated $24,000 to Golden Isles
Veterans Village Initiative. The funds are to help the program in its mission to create supportive housing for homeless veterans in the Golden Isles area. The initiative also strives to foster self-sufficiency and living with purpose for veterans following military service. Job training and access to health care will be provided to residents in addition to secure living space. SSI Rotary, along with other Rotary District 6920 clubs, are part of the program’s Advisory Council with Nine Line Foundation, CMK Enterprises, LLC, and Coastal Community Health Services. The community-wide support network for the initiative is strong based on the involvement of organizations like this.
