Coastal Georgia Historical Society Fall Membership Meeting

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of World War I, Jamil Zainaldin, Ph.D. will present
“World War I: Georgia’s Second Great War,” at the Fall Membership Meeting of the Coastal Georgia Historical Society. Dr. Zainaldin will discuss the impact of the conflict on Georgia and how the experience would become an occasion for a new creation story that would guide the South, and possibly even the nation, into the new century. The former president of Georgia Humanities, Dr. Zainaldin has a Ph.D. in history from the University of Chicago, has taught at Case Western Reserve, Northwestern University and Emory University, specializing in U.S. history and law. The membership meeting will be held at the A.W. Jones Heritage Center on Thursday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. Free for members and $10 for nonmembers.
