Spiced Christmas Rum
Yield: 1½ Cups
Ingredients:
1½ c. dark rum
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Zest of 1 lemon, removed with a peeler
Zest of 1 orange, removed with a peeler
3 cinnamon sticks
3 cloves
1 whole nutmeg
Preparation:
In a 2-cup jar, combine all ingredients. Close tightly. Steep for about 1 week at room temperature. Filter. Keep the orange or lemon zest to decorate glasses. Serve over ice. To serve as a cocktail, mix 2 Tbsp. spiced rum with 3/4 c. ginger ale. Garnish with zest & cinnamon stick.
Christmas Cocktails
Cranberry Ginger Bourbon Smash
Yield: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
10-12 fresh or frozen cranberries (Defrost frozen cranberries by rinsing under cold water until thawed).
1 Tbsp. honey (We recommend Savannah Bee!)
2 oz. bourbon of your choice
4 oz. ginger kombucha
Splash of cranberry juice
Rosemary sprigs for garnish
Preparation:
Put cranberries and honey into a cocktail shaker and smash together with muddler or wooden spoon until the cranberries release their juices. Add bourbon and shake well until combined. Pour into glass, over ice, if desired, and top with ginger kombucha and a splash of cranberry juice. Garnish with sprigs of rosemary
The Dude’s Eggnog
Yield: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
1 oz. Kahlua or other coffee liqueur
1 oz. vodka (vanilla flavored, if desired)
2 oz. eggnog
Pinch of nutmeg (freshly grated is best)
Preparation:
Fill a glass with crushed ice. In a cocktail shaker, shake vodka and coffee liqueur together for 20 seconds. pour over crushed ice. Top with eggnog and stir. Add pinch of nutmeg and serve. Now…relax, man!
